Process Mineralogical Consulting Ltd has added the Tescan Integrated Mineral Analyzer (TIMA) software onto the Tescan Vega 3 Scanning Electron Microscope to further provide our clients with accurate and efficient mineral analyses. The TIMA system incorporates Energy Dispersive X-ray analysis of individual minerals with elemental X-ray maps to provide accurate mineral identification of statistically representative samples. TIMA software allows for the distillation of liberation, association and mineral abundance data to detail mineral sample evaluations. This instrument is used to provide size-by-size liberation data for the evaluation of metallurgical products created in the laboratory or at the mine site.
PMC Ltd. will use this technology along with our current capabilities of:
- Sample sizing & pulverizing
- Rod Mill grinding
- Heavy Mineral Concentration with Heavy Liquids
- Haultain Superpan Concentration
- Polished Block Section Preparation
- Optical mineralogy
- Optical Image Analysis
- Precious Metal Mineral Accounting
- Base Metal Mineral Liberation
- Rapid Ore Characterization

Process Mineralogical Consulting Ltd. is pleased to announce the acquisition of new equipment to further expand our services to the mining industry. PMC will be able to provide automated gold searches to enhance the gold deportment studies already offered. A Tescan Vega III will be installed in our Vancouver laboratory in June equipped with an Oxford Silicon Drift Detector and INCA software to enable mineral searches and identification.
In addition to gold searching PMC will install image analysis capabilities on the unit that will allow for size by size mineral liberation analysis of many of the base metals. This will also offer our clients with an affordable alternative to size by size mineral liberation analysis currently offered by commercial laboratories.
To find out more about our services and capabilities please contact us.
